John (Jack) Eugene Faber Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John (Jack) Eugene Faber, 70, of Granite Bay, Ca passed away on June 11, 2022 in Truckee, Ca. Jack was born on March 1, 1952 in San Francisco, Ca to John and Nellie Faber. He was the youngest child and is survived by his older siblings, Phyllis Lanyon and Jim Valenta. The family then moved to Los Gatos, Ca. After graduating from Los Gatos High School, Jack attended Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo and received accounting and business management degrees. He then attended San Jose State University where he received his MBA. Jack started his working life as a CPA at Price Waterhouse. He did not stay there long as he soon joined Hewlett-Packard in 1979. Jack married Laura Vierra in 1978 and their first daughter was born in 1980 followed by a son in 1983 and another daughter in 1986. The family relocated to Granite Bay, Ca in 1989 where Jack continued his career at Hewlett-Packard. Jack retired from Hewlett-Packard in 2013 as the Vice President of Supply Chain for the HP Enterprise Group after 34 years with the company. Jack was a friend to all. Always stopping to see how you were and never complaining about what was going on with him. Jack especially loved dogs, running, and cooking for his family. He completed many marathons, most notably the Boston Marathon, twice. In addition, Jack participated in several dual and triathlons. He loved to be doing anything active. Jack was perpetually inquisitive as he was always researching to learn about the latest scientific discoveries. He was even recently learning Spanish. Jack was above all else a provider who wanted nothing more than to see his children succeed. He loved spending time with his grandkids and seeing life through their eyes. Jack will be deeply missed by his family and many friends he has made in his life. Jack is survived by his wife Laura, daughter Kelly (Nick), son Kyle (Ashley), and daughter Korie (Greg) as well as his seven grandsons Ryder, Ethan, Hudson, Hunter, Brody, Logan, and Oliver.
